| Proliferative endometrium with architectural change of unopposed |
| Comments: |
| This is a classic "anovulatory" or disordered proliferative endometrium in |
| which the endometrial compartment is uniformly peppered with dilated |
| and irregular glands, without any localizing lesions. Rare fibrin thrombi, |
| which may lead to breakdown and symptoms
are seen. Fibrin thrombi are not |
| seen
as part of physiologic menstrual breakdown. |
